Performing as a Pianist in Kent
My work as a pianist takes me to many of Kent’s wonderful venues. These range from castles and historic buildings to golf clubs and modern hotels. The choice of venues makes Kent a very popular wedding destination. Hence, this is why I work a lot as a wedding pianist in the area.
From a Solo Pianist to a Jazz Band
Most of the events in Kent need me as a solo pianist in Kent, but sometimes I’m required to provide larger line-ups. I can provide anything from a duo up to a five-piece jazz band. Here are all the line-ups I provide:
- Duo – piano and vocals or piano and bass
- Trio – piano, bass and vocals or piano, bass and drums
- Quartet – piano, bass, drums and vocals or piano, bass, drums and sax
- Five Piece Jazz Band – piano, bass, drums, sax and vocals
I can find a line-up that will match both your budget and available space at your chosen venue.
The Music
I have a passion for jazz and my piano style has evolved through listening to the great jazz pianists of the past. These pianists include the likes of Oscar Peterson, George Shearing, and Erroll Garner.
Because most of my work in Kent is as a wedding pianist, I have to be able to play many styles of music. Furthermore, I am often asked to play a different style of music for each part of the wedding day. These styles include pop, blues, rock, classical, Latin, and even singalong.
The demand for me as a singalong pianist is a recent thing and has become something I love. The events that need this type of music are usually Wartime and Cockney themed events. However, formal events such as weddings and corporate events can feature a singalong.
